September 11, 2001 is certainly a day we will never forget.
Every year, the anniversary still brings people back to wherever they were when they heard the news.
The memory is all too fresh even 13 years later, and while we must carry on with our lives, today is a day to take a brief moment to remember all those who lost their lives in the tragic World Trade Center attacks.
Knowing that the planes originated from Logan Airport, the memory is especially heart-wrenching to the city of Boston.
A memorial ceremony was held at the State House this morning, and a wreath was placed at the Garden of Remembrance Memorial in the Public Garden, where Mayor Marty Walsh spoke.
Read more from CBS Boston about this morning’s ceremonies.
You can still honor 9/11 in your own way in the city. Many memorial services and events are taking place today.
Donate blood at the Day of Remembrance Blood Drive at Fenway until 7pm.
Help assemble care packages for the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund with the New England Center for Homeless Veterans at Rose Kennedy Greenway until 2pm.
Or bring your own tribute to the 9/11 memorial site at Logan Airport.
Celebrities, too, have been taking a moment to remember the tragic events, and using their fame on social media to reach out with their messages.

Please take a moment to remember in your own way and send thoughts and prayers to the families who lost loved ones, firefighters and other officials who responded, and anyone who was directly affected by the events of September 11, 2001.
We will never forget.
